Last Few Weeks

Hey everyone, my name is Katrina Maciver and my sport is Tenpin Bowling. I know what you will be thinking, thats not a sport but it really is. Ive been bowling for around 11 years and have competed several times for England in Europe.
After a tough few months of training the hard work is starting to pay of having won two events in the last couple of weeks.
The biggest win was only last weekend where I won an under 24 England ranking event, the first time I have done this having only been playing this circuit for a year and a half. It was a tough tournament which involved a 8 game qualifying round which the top 8 females then competed in head to head matches. Head to head matches arent usually my strong point but after playing in a lot of similar event it went much better this time round.
My other latest win has been a one ball event. This is where everyone bowls 3 games using only one ball, and everyone has to use the same ball. This might be a bit confusing to non bowlers but it simple terms most tournament bowlers will have a range of 6-8 bowling balls which all react differently depending on how the lanes are playing. In this event we could only use one so it was a challenge for both experienced and beginner bowlers. I won this event having competed against both the men and women who played this event so was very pleased with how this went.
