I competed in the Central England Karate Open competition at the end of June where I won gold in the individual Kata, gold in the team Kata and silver in Kumite (fighting). My style of karate, Wado, is not as "showy" as some other styles, and as such it is unusual for Wado to win an open competition. This was my last competition in the UK before going to Tokyo in August where I will be competing in the Japan Nationals as a part of the England Squad. I am gearing up with additional training and will be taking my grading before I go.
